DCT Industrial Trust

History

In April 2002, Dividend Capital Trust was formally incorporated as a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). The company was the first non-traded REIT investment program sponsored by Dividend Capital Group.

Today, that company is an independent entity known as DCT Industrial Trust – a New York Stock Exchange listed REIT trading under the symbol “DCT.”

Please note, DCT Industrial Trust, now an independent company, is no longer affiliated with Dividend Capital Group, but is traded on the NYSE under the symbol "DCT." Dividend Capital Securities raised approximately $1.7 billion of equity capital for DCT Industrial Trust, then known as Dividend Capital Trust, from 2003 - 2006.

Building a Leading Industrial Real Estate Operating Company

In July 2002, Dividend Capital Trust launched the first of four public offerings of its common stock. The company developed relationships with leading financial planning and brokerage firms to raise equity capital from individual investors seeking access to institutional-quality real estate.

From its inception, Dividend Capital Trust’s goal was to build a leading industrial real estate operating company. The company assembled a national portfolio of high quality distribution assets, and attracted an entrepreneurial, highly experienced management team to drive the growth of the business.

At year-end 2003, Dividend Capital Trust had deployed approximately $152 million into high quality industrial real estate assets. At year-end 2004, that number was $754 million, with 2005 ending at $1.9 billion. And at the time of its public offering and listing on the New York Stock Exchange in December 2006, the company had deployed $2.9 billion into a national portfolio of industrial properties.

DCT Industrial Trust is now a publicly-listed company whose shares are held and traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “DCT.” The company operates as a Real Estate Investment Trust for federal tax purposes and intends to pay quarterly dividends to shareholders.
